The design on the right side is the design I started with for the character Sabrina from the movie Sabrina 1954, the design shows a skinny skirts shirt and a scarf that has an olive branch on it and there's the gloves that comes up to the elbowes. I liked the style and everything was going good I thought it will make a perfect look on the character, but at the late night when I started coloring it It's all changed because I had in mind some colors that I wanted to use and they were:
baby blue for gloves and the scarf and the olive branch embrodried in the scarf with green color with two different degrees to show more with lights and bright reflection,
a nude color that is so light for the shirt and some sort of a butter yellow or so
the color for the shirt turned out totally different so I decided to change colors for the skirt too and the overall at the end was not good enough for me so I decided to look for another template and get another Idea as fast as I can because the project was due the next day's afternoon so I printed out multiple ones and some had thick lines and others with a grey background but there was a good one so I used it.
that other design was more about colors so it's a dress with different shades of purple going down in more darker shades and also with gloves and it seems that gloves were a big deal for me in my designs because I feel it framed the character more of an educated young woman.
one of my second design's problems is that the dress is not well shaded or colored because you can easily see underneath it and also it meant to have many layers over it.

this design is for the character Tony from the play you can't take it with you. as I mentioned before we were supposed to read the play and then decide on costume design for each of the characters that the teacher assigned as to design for.
my character was Tony, from what I've noticed from the story he is a young man who is a bit higher than a middle class, he is serious, honest and a loving caring person as he wanted to marry Alice despite her crazy family or anything she would put as a reason to stop their marriage.
the design is a suite in the grey color and a a knitted seater underneath in the yellow color, I used this specific style because it was more of a casual as I felt that Tony is a character that thinks about their choices and gives himself the freedom and the confidence too. a tie in the blue color to sebolize more the character and the calmness in it, with brown casual shoes that looks kind of messed up but they meant to be shoes.

A week ago we were asked to design costumes for the characters from the famous play "Romeo and Juliet" but in a more creative way. so the task was to choose another time period to design the costumes in and a time period where we can have such an epic love story. some people chose to do it in groups and others on their own and mine was on my own. I chose the 1970's or more specifically in the late 60's and the beginning of the 70's. the story is happening in two countries Egypt and Israel because at that time there were some tentiones between the two countries. the story was happening where Juliet was a Nubian girl, a daughter of the tribal chief, and Romeo was a military Air Force soldier from a high standard family. the lovers meet when Romeo get injured and the girl finds him and try to take care of him without her strict family know and they fall in love. he goes back home after that and tells his parent about this love story and they totally refuse the marriage, and Juliet couldn't even talk about it to her family because her dad might kill her if he knew it. Romeo goes back to Sainai from time to time just to meet with her until her cousin knows about that love story and the two guys have the battle in between and the story keeps on going. I chose the style of traditional and the more fashionable style because I thought it would be a cool idea that wasn't so popular at the time as people started wearing more fashionable clothes and go with the fashion's flow.
